P. Tom Wurster, CPA ended his formal education when he received a BBA degree in accounting from Texas Tech University.  He moved to Midland and began his professional accounting with a national accounting firm.  While employed there, he obtained his CPA license, headed SEC audit teams, received extensive income tax training, and reached the office's management group level.  He left this firm for the position of Controller for a Midland publicly-held company, Adobe Oil and Gas Corporation. Adobe became one of Midland's most successful independent oil and gas companies during Tom's time there.

Tom was Adobe's first Controller.  His responsibilities were management reports, SEC filings and reports, and financial reports for Adobe shareholders.  Tom left Adobe after 5 years to start his own public accounting practice in Midland.

Working "both sides of the fence" in a large national accounting firm and in a publicly held oil and gas company gave Tom great insight into the best way to provide accounting services.  He feels that accounting services are delivered best "one-on-one" in an environment that does not require reassignment of staff to different customers every year.

Tom enjoys working directly with customers and helping them plan their futures.  He adds value by helping them reduce the stress that a problem is causing them.  Tom always provides a "friendly ear" to any problem a customer has, and is always eager to provide a solution. Tom has immense experience in all facets of the oil and gas industry, and all aspects of income tax and estate tax minimization. He has also earned the rare designation of Accredited Estate Planner awarded by the same institution that designates Chartered Life Underwriters, and Chartered Financial Consultants.

Tom's favorite leisure activity is travelling with his wife, Kathy.  Kathy owns and manages a specialty toy store in Midland. So Tom has a great deal of insight into the problems an independent store owner faces today.  His favorite hobby is making jewelry, usually using his lapidary and metal-smithing skills.  Tom is an expert "rockhound" who enjoys the thrill of finding just the right specimen during his frequent field trips.  Tom's and Kathy's 3 dogs are constant companions as well.
